I Saw A Snippet Of Something That Really Struck Me

It was on social media, and it was Brad Pitt saying something at one of the movie awards shows.

He said something to the effect that he’s “not one to look back.”

And, that struck me.

Because I remember a few of his good performances over the years.

And, for him to be “not one to look back” was just revealing to me.

Maybe there’s a lesson in there for all of us! 🙂

  1. You know, in some ways I agree with this…looking at the past can keep you from moving forward. But, I also think we can learn from the past as well, and keeping it in mind can help us to remember what not to do, etc. Interesting post that’s making me think!! 🙂 xo

  2. Interesting wording he used. I’m wondering if he meant it exactly as he put it, or what was the context in which he said it? To say I’m not one to look back…hm, on what?

Certainly being able to look back at all is super important. There are a lot of people who avoid doing so, even reject it and will do so in a way that harms others. Like people saying oh just stop living in the past. Or people who don’t want to be held accountable for something that happened. I personally don’t like to FOCUS on the past. I need to see it, acknowledge and move on. Often though I’ll get stuck and worry about it. Look back sure, stay back? No.

    Thanks for sharing!
