Philosophical Friday

This week I am making an observation:

“Humanity has come a long way, but still has further to go.”

  1. One example that comes to mind given what’s been in the news lately is that we’ve come a long way in the sense that slavery is no longer legal, but we have a long way to go in terms of racial equality and equality in general.

    • This is true. The news as of late (and even way before then) in terms of racial inequality, is a prime example of where we falter. I personally tend to break it down to half of the people, treating black people like shit,and/or saying there’s not a problem. Take this half, because that is really what’s disconcerting to me… what the hell can you do when this population of people are as vile as they are? They know they’re being asses, they know and they don’t care! Why? Their commander in chief is a bigot, and that’s what matters most to them. They have a voice, and that voice makes being a bigot OK. Even coming out as one is safe for this population of people. Not all, but as you said, one day… if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck… etc.
